We're Cruising Oz
Chrissy and Steve, travelling evangelist hippies, are an ‘untameable’ married couple who responded to Jesus' call to "GO - tell 'em I love 'em" by selling what we owned - except our 1985 LiteAce van affectionately known as Buzz - and hitting the road in February 2009.
We basically cruise this country helping individuals, communities and churches in whatever ways we’re able to tap into the love of God. We do this through helping, giving, clothing, feeding, cleaning, serving, encouraging, imparting, preaching, running seminars and anything else we can think of to creatively demonstrate God's love. We don’t see this so much as a ‘mission from God’ but more a natural expression of who we are!
God loves His kids and chose us to go and show ‘em – it’s that simple.

with grateful hearts
Though it is not as we expected - God is showing us creativity in our 'sowing and reaping'.
strangers blessing strangers.
whatever the Lord gives us to sow, we plant with much prayer and gusto, believing for a great and mighty harvest.
we have a philosophy to leave a place better than the way we found it. whether this involves cleaning up rubbish, preparing campfires, leaving food, or blessing individuals....
we met a young girl serving in a pizza restaurant in tumbarumba. she was a dear young thing (doesnt that make me sound like an oldie) and we got chatting (as the guinoz do) and she told us how she was working hard to save to go to india to volunteer in an orphanage for 3 months. steve and i both had the same inspiring thought at once... as we left the restuarant we asked for the young waitress, when she came to the counter we slipped her some money. her eyes were as wide as the pizza trays on the wall behind her! it was so beautiful. she told us that amount of money would pay for her dinner EVERY night of the 3 months. someone from Wagga church had blessed us with the money - and so it continues to grow.
at a reststop near merrimbula we met a gentleman about our age, very disillusiioned with the 'politics' of life, and living (yes, living) in his van at this reststop. his face was lined through anger and resentment and it looked like he hadn't smiled in years. we parked beside him a coupla nights and spent time listening to his grumblings and misgivings - counter-commenting on the joys and freedom of life. we were able to bless him with apples we had been blessed with at the orchard during our picking last month and some fresh nuts (a must for travellers). he was stoked with the fresh food (he lives out of tinned food and sucking on bongs) and we left to him waving with a beaming smile on his lit-up face.
once we stopped at a camp area late of an evening and found wood left behind by fellow travellers beside the campfire site. we embraced this philiosophy and now prepare as many campfire sites as possible before we leave an area.... we head off in search of wood (sometimes piling it on top of buzz on the innovative roofracks garren made out of wire fencing) and leaving everything ready for fellow campers to just, literally, strike a match to it. we continue this practice wherever we go.
as is typical of the Lord, one morning a woman called Kettle pulled up in a ute and dumped an entire load of wood at our feet to bless us (she had seen us camped there the night before and out collecting wood so, gathered a ute load to give us) never seen her before, or since - and she had no idea that wood was a way we used to bless others (reap wot ya sow) - so way cool!
we have only paid for 2 nights accommodation since we left ulla earlier this year - otherwise its reststops or national parks or free camps (or friends' yards). during our stay at the paid camp area, there was a communal kitchen for people to use. we were able to leave a large bowl of freshly picked apples (yes, the ones our bosses blessed us with!) it just keeps going around.
now we are in the city (melb, vic) our ministry seems to be toward street bums and buskers - so we have to be creative in the way we bless them - through food, smiles, money, encouragement and pass-it-on scripture cards.
we beleive we are making a difference in people's lives. we were called to "Go, and tell them I love them" - actions seem to speak louder than words, so we do wot we can, give what we have, pray, beleive and trust God for a rich harvest!
thank you for being partners in the journey
