Greetings... All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realm because we are united with Christ. (Ephesians 1:3)
The Lord reminds us where to fix our focus… we are never called to look at what others have or what we don't have, but to use what we do have.
We have time and we have food to share and love to give.
At Planetshakers this morning Ps Russell mentioned Jeremiah's task as a cup bearer to the king… it got us thinking. WE are cup bearers to the King of Kings. We are called to take the King's cup, filled with living waters flowing straight from His throne (see Ezekiel 47:1-12), waters of love, forgiveness, grace, mercy, provision and favour - and share it with others – liberally and generously. We ourselves have tasted it ("Taste and see that the Lord is good" Ps 34:8) and we know it to be very good!
Thanks to the generous support provided by friends and family and Highway Christian Church, we are able to sow wherever we go… yes, even in the city with its long arms and clutching fingers.
Today, we anonymously sponsored a child (on your behalf) to attend the Planetshakers School Holiday Kids' Camp – so continue to partner with us by praying for that child to come to know Jesus as their personal Saviour.
Jordi, our youngest daughter who has just settled in Fitzroy, was blessed with some Turkish Pide bread from work – so we head to Fitzroy Gardens and blessed Vinny with them. Vinny is a Chinese refuge who lost everything, and no long wants to own anything. He 'lives' in the gardens, under a shelter, on a board he dragged from within the city, amidst his few plastic-bags of possessions. He is an interesting character, and one we will continue to spend time with whenever we can. We had a great chat to him about God today, whom Vinny acknowledges as the Creator of all and the reason for his being. He has a lot to teach us about inner peace and acceptance of his surroundings… as is always the case with God, as we give – we receive! It never ceases to amaze us!
We met a lovely couple from Tasmania, Sheree and Andrew, visiting Melbourne for the first time today, and we were blessed to spend some time together and exchange 'stories'. They felt called by the Lord to build a cottage next to their home in Tasmania and make it available to travelling ministries, and invited us to stay when we eventually (prob 2010) get to Tassie on this amazing journey of ours. Only God could throw us together like He did! I'm sure we'll all be a rich blessing to one another. (You can never out-give God!)
We have signed up for scrubbing graffiti off the walls of Council blocks of flats later this week. The police, Yarra Council, Department of Housing and a couple of Melbourne churches are combining their efforts to get the flats cleaned up. What a blessing. .. Just like the 'Random Acts of Kindness' Highway Christian Church is so good at! We carry that anointing with us! Thank you, Highway!
We continue to believe for salvations, signs, miracles and wonders wherever we go… its an exciting journey with lots of challenges and a myriad of out-of-the-box blessings – thank you for your support, prayers, encouragement and partnership along the way… as we believe together… blessings, love, joy and happy vibes to you!
