We're Cruising Oz

Chrissy and Steve, travelling evangelist hippies, are an ‘untameable’ married couple who responded to Jesus' call to "GO - tell 'em I love 'em" by selling what we owned - except our 1985 LiteAce van affectionately known as Buzz - and hitting the road in February 2009.

We basically cruise this country helping individuals, communities and churches in whatever ways we’re able to tap into the love of God. We do this through helping, giving, clothing, feeding, cleaning, serving, encouraging, imparting, preaching, running seminars and anything else we can think of to creatively demonstrate God's love. We don’t see this so much as a ‘mission from God’ but more a natural expression of who we are!

God loves His kids and chose us to go and show ‘em – it’s that simple.

EASTER at The Olive Tree

'Rise', is a masterpiece by  33-year-old Broulee artist Joel Campbell, and is now featuring  at The Olive Tree Art and Coffee House as an Easter Spectacular.

Joel, who dedicated two months to creating the stunning art piece, believes 'Rise' represents the best possible way for him to explain visually his spirituality.

"God is the superposition of all spirit, the wavelength that represents the driving force behind all matter.. to me, Jesus was the embodiment of that spirit or as much of it that could possibly fit into a human form and still exist here," the artist said.

Joel believes Jesus was a man who knew exactly who He was and where He came from.

"He was willing to die one of the most painful ways imaginable for the truth that He spoke because He loved the world so much," Joel said.

'Rise', selected as a feature piece for the Easter holiday period,  is inspiring imagination, creativity and lively conversation among the many viewers with its hidden treasures to be found during each medatative viewing.

"It is obvious now that although we can see extremely far into the space surrounding us, we are not going anywhere any time soon," the artists said.

"So with an increase of population and limited resources the only way that we are going to survive here is if we turn our attentions and energies upon each other and learn how to get along while absorbing our neighbours' ideas, so we can view our situation from many different angles, creating real solutions for our growth."

Artist Joel will be attending the Good Friday Easter service, led by Southland Church Pastor Garren Walton, to be held at The Olive Tree from 9.30am - all welcome - and its free.
